The Friday Free for All Challenge 5/26/17, "Look Ma! NO Stamps!!", inspired me to step outside my "stamp comfort zone" for creating a graduation card. Instead of reaching for my hat & diploma stamps, I decided to go artsy with a faux (really faux!) watercolor image and a diecut sentiment.
The watercolor image you see here was achieved by the use of a photo app that I purchased for use on my
iPad. The app is called Waterlogue (created by Tinrocket, LLC) and it transforms photos and other images into watercolor paintings, in mere seconds! I have had SO much fun with this app, the images it's produces takes my breath away!
The graduate kindly sent us the most delightful announcement, a z-style card that was filled with photos of her doing things she loves. This one of her on her horse, with the year 2017 on the soles of her boots, caputured her whimsical personality perfectly! I took a free-hand photo of the picutre with my iPad, popped it into Waterlogue, and this was the result. Pretty cool, huh?
The card was super simple to complete, with a panel of richly textured pale rose colored cardstock and a warm brown card base to pick up the soft colors in the watercolor image. The finishing touch was the delicate pink die cut sentiment spanning the width of the card front.
Thanks for moseying by to look at my "no stamp", horsey graduation card!

Wow! This is so creative! One of a kind!!! I found an app similar awhile back. I was asked to make a card with a motorcycle on it. I used the app to make a pencil drawing. It's amazing what these apps can do, isn't it? Your card is gorgeous!

This app sounds like a lot of fun! Think I'll check it out! Your card is wonderful and she will have her own picture on a graduation card! What a nice way to complete the circle of the graduation announcement.
