The wood shop teacher in my kids high school was going to toss out all these gardening boxes the kids made because nobody came to pick them up and take them home! I told him I thought I could do something with them, so I took a bunch of them home, sanded, then painted or stained them, and then STAMPED THEM!!! They turned out so CUTE!!! On some I used our alphabets and put little verses like...'old gardeners never die...they just 'spade' away'...and that sort of thing...but anyway, I stamped flowers on some, grapes and vines on some, and apples on this one. Then for a school fundraiser, I bought potted plants, gardening tools and gloves and arranged them in each box...put them into the silent auction, and they went for anywhere from $60-$80 per box!! Boy, were we happy! This is something I can do each year now to help raise money for the FFA Booster club...and the teacher wants me to come next spring and show the kids 'how to finish their boxes off' so that they might WANT to take them home! I was pretty tickled at this and happy with how they came out...what a fun project!
