Hi everyone! It's been a couple of weeks since I've been able to play and missed you all!!!
Wendy's free for all challenge looked like a great place to get the creative juices flowing and made a masculine card with the Criss Criss fold technique she provided.
Using 2 sided patterned paper I made the 'jacket/vest' with the small gingham on outside and the baby blue color as the inside. Glued 2 white buttons to the front.
The shirt is also double sided patterned paper; stripes and light blue. I measured 1" from top & side of "shirt" and cut horizontally on both sides. Then folded to make the collar. Punched 2 holes and added brads as the collar cuff.
I found a visual tutorial for the tie and played with it till the end result. Here is the visual link; http://stylowi.pl/17851866
The tie is cut 4 1/2" square, then folded on a diagonal for the center. Fold again from one corner (with the fold crease) to the center. Again on the other side. So you have what looks to be the start of a paper airplane.
Fold down the tip of your square about 1" and then fold up so the tip meets the fold.
Straighten this corner back to normal, then fold each side again to the center of the square. It will look like a double folded winged airplane. Unfold slightly the design fold down the tip, fold in the wings, then fold in the tip. It's a little complicated, but I finally got it to work. Please note, using thin paper for the tie is more manageable then using cardstock.
I glued the tie under the collar, then used more glue to hold the collar down on the tie.
I finished with stamping happy retirement on the backside of the shirt and room for a note.
This paper has an aged/antique look to it: hence the darker spots in some areas. It's really beautiful paper IRL. My sis gave me the entire paper pad!!
I may not have explained clearly, but hope this and the visual provides enough to give it a try!
Thanks for looking!
EDIT Update: I changed the word suit to 'vest' in the title; as this has no lapels.
Just so excited to be posting again.

Hands down this is the cleverest card in the gallery IMO! This would be a super Father's Day card. TFS all your instructions. You did an outstanding card.
