I decided to try The hot glue embossing technique with floating re-inkers for today's mix challenge. (This does take some time & patience)
I laid down a line of hot glue onto watercolor paper and used a tooth pick to drag some of it down out of the ridge. I applied a second line of glue and repeated the process. I let it set a bit to adhere to paper then quickly reheated, covered with black EP and heat again to set. Once this had cooled I lightly wet the backside of the paper with a paintbrush (this keeps it from curling and warping as it dries) and then heavily misted the front side and tapped in my 3 colors of re-inkers with an aqua brush letting them free flow in the water droplets. Set aside to dry AGAIN - Here's where the patience part really came in for me as usually I speed up the dry time with my heat gun but couldn't do that with the embossed glue so wait - wait and more wait as this paper was REALLY wet AND puddled! Hours later . . . and I need to finish this card! I decided to frame my piece in black but I extended the inner frame and die cut my letters from the bottom keeping the negative space as part of the framing and the arranged the letters themselves vertically beside my "Painting". I used just last part of the 'Take time to laugh' sentiment and stamped it between the positive & negative "art" words to finish the outer framing.
Even though this is time consuming, I LOVE the results!

So worth the time, Linda!!!!!! Wow, I'm going to need to try this hot glue technique over and over again. I'm seeing so many wonderful cards in the challenge so far! Thank you for sharing.

This is so beautiful!!! I love that technique. I have used hot glue before and created a design but never embossed it. It looks fabulous embossed for a one of a kind art piece!

Wow, and wow. Linda, this should be framed. The black embossing looks amazing with the puddles of vivid colour ...and thanks for the tip on wetting the back of the card, not one I have come across before, and it sounds perfect for using with Brushos when I really need my paper to stay flat.
