I decided to do a cowboy card with this tape leather technique, although mine almost looks like wood as I went with strips of masking tape. I thought I'd keep this one with a little less dimension from my usual cards since I'll have to mail it. I agree the strips of tape make it look ALOT like woodgrain - I usually used small odd shapes for cobblestones or cracked earth but I REALLY need to remember this! I Love your scaled back look (maybe because I relate better to this style of stamping). Gorgeous coloring, awesome sentiment and into the fav's file for me!

Using strips will have made this much quicker, as I remember it, small pieces was quite time-consuming, and the strips look very effective. It sort of makes me think of the way birch trees can look when the silver bark is peeled back. I do love that verse you have used, and the cowboy is just super.
