When I was a child, if my mom didn't have time to make baked beans from scratch, she'd buy a can or two of Campbell's baked beans and she'd "doctor them up" with brown sugar and ketchup.
When I was in Target yesterday, these notecards from Carlton Cards caught my eye - loved the gold and the glitter and the fact that they had no sentiment on the front. They looked very festive to me. I bought the pack of them with the notion that they'd provide a great foundation for a card - particularly holiday or anniversary. This afternoon I decided to give my idea a test drive.
Stamped my sentiment on a scrap of black cardstock and cut out with an MFT fishtail die. Cut a 2nd fishtail for layering. Now, just doing that actually made a fine anniversary card. But I wanted it to have a bit more finish and weight.
I cut off the front of the notecard. As I write this, I realize I could have simply used the back as a fill layer, but I used some cardstock from my stash to adhere it to before attaching to my black card base. Added my stacked fishtail.
Super quick card and I really like how it turned out. I look forward to seeing what I can come up with for a holiday card - I have ideas....

Such a clever and pretty idea for your anniversary card, Debbie. A wonderful idea for the holidays when we all get overloaded at times. TFS my friend. Hugs..
