Sue (Mrs Noofy) made a couple of pocket cards last week or the week before - they were for the F4A challenge to CASE something from your favourites and she mentioned that she was casing Brenda Quintana. Sue's cards went straight into my favourites because I thought they'd be great for a Christmas card, and with time to spare yesterday I worked on a prototype. I'm not happy with the Merry Christmas and need to find a different sentiment for that part... but I have all the stamping and cutting done for another three for my March (well, the prototype was completed yesterday) quota of Christmas cards.
I winged it on sizes - the black pockets are a sheet of card cut in half lengthways to give two pockets. I scored them half way, and then trimmed a quarter inch off the top of the back, and 1" off the front. to make it easier to pull the inserts out. The inserts are a quarter sheet of card, with 5/8" trimmed off the long edge so that they will fit in the pocket.
I started by stamping the Unity crib, and then carefully added gold EP to the star and clear to the rest. Then I placed the insert inside the pocket (with the oval window punched out) to position the "The Light of the World" sentiment, removed it, stamped the second part of the sentiment and embossed that too. Masked the crib, sponged up to the top of the pocket, then stamped the sentiment, embossed that part only with a Provocraft ef and sponged it.
For the front panel, I cut pieces of white card the same size as the front of the pocket and trimmed of 1/4" from the top and left side. Matched it over the pocket front and punched the oval. Stamped and embossed the stars in gold, then sponged with blue ink after punching the corners. Added a gold star popped up on foam dots.
