I have never had much luck with this technique so I tried something a little bit different today. I stamped the tulips in Adirondack Current and SU Always Artichoke, then I coloured them with watercolour pencils in as close a match as I could find which was Inktense Shiraz and Derwent Olive Green. I also used watercolour paper which I seldom do.
Used Susan's 'glass' butterfly again....stamped and embossed on a transparency and cut out.
TFL!

Ooh, I love the texture from the paper, and your tweak on the technique certainly worked beautifully, Jo. I like the soft, old-fashioned look this has in those rich colours.

This is REALLY pretty and I may have to try your method of faux no line coloring since I too struggled with the actual technique!
Love your glass butterfly very fragile looking.
