Another Inspiration challenge from Audrie's awesome Pinterest board, this one inspired by the orange sample in this packaging design pic: http://pin.it/OjMQ-dx
It looked deceptively simple! I had square stamps, I had orange ink...well the orange ink just didn't pop enough against the kraft cardstock so it was back to the drawing board. I decided to try acrylic paint but didn't want to paint my precious rubber stamps...
Fortunately when stamping on furniture and walls was a big thing years back, I picked up a whole bunch of foam stamps because they were silly cheap and just as useable on paper as on anything else. And I had used them plenty of time with acrylic paints. I found a swirl stamp and my Making Memories letters and went to town. I also played with spattering -- not too crazy about how that turned out and probably wouldn't bother if I made this card again.
I wanted the sentiment to stand out a bit more so I outlined it with white pen, then added groupings of white dots to the swirls. I thought I was done and was pretty happy with it. But as I was tidying up last night, I noticed the card laying next to a package of stickers and the orange flower/gem was the perfect shade, so I popped one on for the dot on the "i". I considered adding some to the centers of the swirls as well but decided to leave well enough alone!
This one wandered pretty far from the inspiration but I sure enjoyed the journey.
