Here is the end result. The hardest part of this technique is waiting for it to dry!!! DH and I are going on a 4 month caravan holiday in 9 days time (not that I am counting). I am taking lots of stamped images to colour so hopefully this background will become a village by the time I get back.
EDIT: I have removed the 'before' upload as it isn't a finished project. This canvas isn't really finished yet, but I figure it could be considered a weird piece of wall art LOL.
I followed Lydia's cling wrap background technique, first sprinkling Brusho powder onto the cling wrap, then blasting it with Ironing Spray (starch - I use an elcheapo version of Fabulon). I then laid an A4 cheap canvas frame onto the cling wrap. Flip it over and scrunch the plastic a bit more - Lydia's video tutorial is great.
Stamperrobin, my sistah from anudder mudder, introduced me to spray starch during the last DTGD. It is silkier and more slippery than water and it doesn't effect the integrity of the colour medium.
This sounds strange, but the spray isn't as 'wet' as water. It works brilliantly with Dylusions Ink Sprays too.

Four months! Wow! You do the coolest things!!!! Love this background - the look is so amazing!!! I have tried this technique but not with ironing spray - I will be getting some soon. I might even iron something to see if I remember how (has been years and years since I did it - lol). Have fun my friend!!! Hugz

Susie, Susie, Susie.....what a GLORIOUS background!!!!! Oh my, what Amazing worlds you could put on to that background!!! It's top of the chart just in and of itself without anything on it. I can just see the gears in your mind grinding together spitting out all kinds of Susie Lands. My rusty little brain gears just spit out a scenario of the initial event of Dorothy's visit to the land of Oz. Perhaps one of Tim's Crazy dogs could audition for Toto. I am so looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I hope and pray that you won't leave us hanging for FOUR months. Unbearable! Wishing you and Geoff a Wonderful, Safe and Trouble-free jaunt. It would be absolutely fantastic if you could give us little snippets of your escapades as you wander about. Australia has always fascinated me, but I've only seen it in movies. It would be interesting to see it through your eyes. Take care and ENJOY!
