I made not just one but two mistakes on this, but I said to myself "whoever I send this to will not know", and when DH was admiring the card (he with the unerring eye for crooked layers and matting), I felt justified in having gone ahead with finishing it off. It's meant to be a bordered sentiment technique, but I managed both to stamp where it should have been masked and to rule in my lines at an angle to the sentiment (which is heat embossed). Base is just bisters on watercolour paper, with the panel edged with a black pen before adding to a white base.
***Thanks for all the kind comments! I knew I was right not to throw the panel out, grins, even though I like to do things properly. For the record, I made another one today with no goofs, so I now have two sympathy cards in my stash.

I think it's a wonderful card. Love the black silhouettes on the beautiful combination of background colors. Glad you did not throw it away. My husband is my critic and I am glad that he loves seeing each and every new card I design. He knows how happy I am when I am up in my card room.
