For today's CAS challenge - Luck of the Irish, and TLC Direct to Paper. These challenges worked together perfectly for a sympathy card for my Irish uncle whose 94 year old mother is dying. 94. What a life! I think this card celebrates her really well. They are very proud of their Irish heritage.
Direct to paper was a difficult challenge for me. I sat here this morning rubbing ink pads on paper and trying to figure out how to make it look good until I ended up with some stripes that looked like the beginning of a nice plaid. I do love a good plaid. I see many more Distress ink plaid backgrounds in my future...

The plaid is a great add-on technique for the DTP challenge! Good idea to use the plaid for an Irish sympathy card. My sympathy to your uncle and his family.
PS: You should add this to the DIY Plaid Technique gallery.

Great Plaid and great way to cover both challenges today. This is a perfect card for your Uncle. I'm sure he'll appreciate that you're thinking of him and that you celebrated his Irish heritage with this card.
