Polly inspired us in today's mix ability to try test transferring.
After this mornings garden photo shoot, I took full advantage of the snow day and spent about 3hrs making this seedy character!
I was inspired by the mail delivery of seed packets.
I used Penny Black stamps for the seed packet & Daisies on watercolor paper and watercolored as shown. I used a yellow neon gel pen around Sunshine Seed Company, and a silver metallic & green neon gel pens for the 5e piece on top right.
I fussy cut the Daisies, then used a 1" square Die on the packet, adhered the acetate and used the seeds from today's happy mail. The packet has a backside, and is folded in half and adhered to the bottom of the packet.
I thought I'd recycle a perfectly good seed packet by using it to try the text transfer technique.
For my bg, I started with an 8 1/2" x 11" white CS.
Using summer sky blue concrete paint I randomly brush stroked about 3/4 of the page.
I then used a polka dot stencil and heavily dabbed on acrylic metallic gold paint. Once dried, I cut up the original seed packet and tried the transfer with modge Podge.
Unfortunately it didn't work, I think because it was a semi glossy finish on the paper.
Found a women's magazine that has newspaperlike pages. I cut out some text and also a colored floral ad. (Top right corner).
This was harder than I care to admit, and left too much paper on the bg, but left it as is.
I cut my bg in a square and decided to make it somewhat of a quadrant for visual interest. I added a blue embossed dot paper square on lower left side to the bg.
Added a piece of washi tape to top left quadrant (under the seed packet)
Using a floral corner punch, I punched 3 corners of the bg, 1 corner of the blue dot embossed paper. Adhered the blue paper to bg then adhered to yellow diagonally embossed base.
Finished with foam dots on the seed packet placed in the center, then adhered the fussy cut Daisies at the bottom left side.
I guess it's a good thing it snowed; lots going on here and I think I like it!!
I'm still mesmerized by Pollys creation! Thanks for the challenge & inspiration Polly.

I think you did a great job on this! You're right it's not as easy as it might appear. It does take some practise. I just realized those are actual seeds on your card..how cool is that! I also like your bits of gold on this...I am so into adding anything metallic to my projects. Thanks for playing along! Glad you had fun on your snow day ;)

Wonderful garden collage - beautifully watercolored seed packet and I love the addition of the acetate pocket to hold real seeds. I think most of us are ready for spring and a little digging in the dirt.

Yeah, my first sheet music that I tried didn't transfer at all, I get where you're coming from. Well done for persevering and using a snow day to create a piece of art full of the promise of summer. I love your little flower corner punch, and the way you added real seeds to the quaint seed pack.
