Knew I needed to make a birthday card for my nephew this weekend but wasn't exactly full of ideas. Then I opened up Pinterest and found this cutie from Ardyth and knew right away I had to CASE it.
I kept the general layout but did make thes changes:
- I used pigs rather than monkeys
- I used a cupcake, paper pieced party hat and sequins, instead of balloons
- I decided to pop-up my image layer, rather than have a true OLC.
Can I say that the MISTI is a godsend for cards like this?
I first stamped my pigs on a piece of scrap paper to get the general placement figured out. Then, using that as a guide, I started positioning my stamps so as to stamp as many as I could at the same time then filling in the rest. (Hint: Stamp the hat first, then mask it before stamping the cupcake pig)
Colored up with Copic Markers (E000,E00, E11, R01, R02, R20). Added a hint of sky (0, BG0000, BG000).
Added freckles with white gel pen, added Wink of Stella to the cupcake icing, added a dot of Glossy Accents to the cherry and added paper-pieced party hat. Assembled the card and added some clear sequins for a bit of extra birthday bling.

So very cute! Love the pig party. Your coloring is fabulous done to the freckles. Love the fun pun for the sentiment. My grandmother married a pig farmer. For every occasion, I would send them pig cards and gifts. They would have loved this one! Nicely done with the case of Ardyth's card. Into my favs.
