I always love trying new techniques, but I don't think this one's for me. I just don't like this card. I'm hoping that it's just the muted purply colors that aren't me and that it's really not as bad as I think. It's just not me at all.
I started off by taping down the oval stencil and sponging in the distress inks, then I stamped the butterflies and leaves (I don't have white pigment ink, so I used white chalk ink). I spread the clear EP and heated it and realized I had some stray EP outside the frame. Since I had some stray EP on the outside of the frame, I figured I'd do a little watercolor wash on the outside of the frame. Stamped some more leaves underneath the sentiment and I think the dark purple frame adds some more interest and color that I just badly need in my cards

Jen, I think you did a wonderful job with the challenge. I love the butterflies and leaves on the tapestry piece as well as the blend of beautiful colors. The way you added the sentiment with the stem and leaves is so clever!! I'll have to try that!! Please don't be hard on yourself, as you are not the only person who had some difficulty with the technique. Hugs, my friend!

Before I read Bev's comment above I was thinking almost exactly the same thing. You are being far too hard on yourself! I think the muted greyed out tones are perfect for a sympathy card. I love the colour wash outside the oval! The wavy sentiment echoed by the stamped branch underneath it is fabulous! This is a lovely card!

I think the tapestry panel looks great -soft and dreamy. Count me as another who really likes the little foliage stem mirroring the curve of that great sentiment.
