| | I made this card for my friend Donna who is married 56 years today. She is so young at heart and has so much energy for life that it is hard to believe she has been married this long. Donna loves flowers so I decided to ink up my SU corner garden bg stamp that rarely gets used. I heat embossed the image in white. Then I took a paint brush loaded with quite a bit of water and colored in each flower one at a time, then I would touch another paint brush into distress ink, then touch it to the water I had just painted into a flower and let the colors run where they may run. I had to work on flowers that did not touch so the colors would not bleed into each other and create mud. This is a bit of a magical technique because it is really fun to watch the colors run and pool in the water and see what they do. I tried adding a butterfly to this card and sequins or gems because my friend Donna is a blingy kind of gal, but in the end, I just kept it simple with the stamped sentiment. Thanks for looking. ~Karen. |
