I am your hostess this week, and I'm challenging you to combine three bright colors: Hello Honey, Rich Razzleberry, and Tempting Turquoise. The dessert option this week is to use a die-cut or punched element on your card.
This is my first card for this challenge, and one I had great fun with. My first attempt at Alcohol Inks and Yupo paper. For those who aren't familiar with it, Yupo is a synthetic/plastic paper. It is the perfect paper for use with Alcohol Inks. I watched some videos on YouTube and then forged ahead.
I used alcohol inks that are close to this week's challenge colors, and in some cases, I blended them. That's how I got the green for the leaves. I did NOT use a green ink! No, no, that would be cheating! ;-) I blended the turquoise and yellow colors by putting drops of each on the applicator, then adding alcohol blending solution and pouncing over and over. The panel on the right was created by combining the turquoise and purple colors.
After I was done creating the sheets, I die-cut all the flowers and leaves and arranged them on the card front. I finished it off with Nuvo Crystal drops in Caribbean Ocean, and stamped the greeting. I really must remember to use a powder tool before heat embossing. I did better with my second card, but this one has some white speckles. Grrr!
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!

Barbara, I love the effects of the alcohol inks on the yuppo paper and how you used the panel. I have been playing with that technique too, and I am inspired by how you used the panel for both the bg and the flowers!
