The challenge today is to include the elements of new (my grunge stamps), old (my hero arts butterflies), blue (my bg), and borrowed (the use of intense color contrasting with black that Susie Australia uses so beautifully in many of her cards, such as this one here! You must check out her gallery if you have not done so before!)
I rubbed distress inks on my craft mat, spritzed with water and lay/dragged my watercolor cs in/through it until I liked the colors/intensity. Did the same on a separate sheet and stamped my butterflies. Die cut and then spritzed the butterflies with shimmer mist - so, so pretty IRL! Stamped the bg with assorted grunge stamps from my new set, splattered with white acrylic paint as well as some of the distress ink used. Embossed the sentiment in black, assembled.

Bee-autiful, Maura! Tucked into my favourites. The soft background is beautiful and then I love the idea of using the dark black for the grunge stamps, I would never go that bold with them. I noticed another card where someone had spattered black, which is also darker than I'd ever go with spatters and I loved the look. I'm thinking I need to tuck both these ideas into my memory for future inspiration.
