Thank you, Ally for a most interesting sketch. I confess to going slightly outside 'the lines', but I do hope you can see the bones of the sketch.
The Teapotter Challenge this week was 'Patching Up the Year'. To share a remembrance in the form of a 'memory quilt'. I must admit I've been pondering this Starbucks coffee sleeve for a few weeks now as I knew it would make a great card. Don't you just love it when you don't Quite know what you want to create, but trust that something good is going to spring forth?
My Memory quilt is the hearts rendered in three shades of Red. I must admit my physical heart has been heavy this season missing my mom who slipped the bounds of this life for the hope of heaven. Tears won't slip over the rim of my eyes, but I feel every one, just waiting. Red was her favorite color. I traced my hand onto the beautiful Asian rice paper and then fussy cut. My hand crafting that heart filled quilt. {LOVE} personified. Inside the 'cup' is a teabag. The heart tag reaches just over the edge of the 'cup'. I added a strip of dark Washi, which has affirmations...one that says: never look back...
Life indeed goes on. I was well loved. And I know this is only a temporary separation. Thank you very much for stopping by. I appreciate you.

What I'd really love to do right now is pop that teabag into a cup ... and share a cuppa with you in your kitchen. I'm sorry to hear about your Mum, and I really can say I know some of what you feel....
I love your 'hand' and 'heart' design, it's so you!

Oh, I so need to do this challenge! Well, some tears spilled over my eyes reading this. I lost my Mom this year, her favorite color was red, and I was well loved too. She told me not to cry as death was a happy occasion and births were sad - that keeps me going. Our Mothers were kindred spirits just like us. Many hugz to you sweet Susan.

Yes, the tears are at the rim of my eyes and I know they are going to spill over. What a beautiful memory of your mom. Do you think yours and mine are friends like us? I'm sure they are. Something else ... the string & tag hang over the edge of my cup too, RED is my favorite color.
Awesome card , my friend..

You continue to be well loved my friend. Susan this is so special and meaningful. I wish I could sit with you and chat about your mum. I bet she was a wonderful woman - I happen to know her daughter sure is!
