Maura is our hostess this week, and she has chosen Basic Black, Whisper White and Gold as our colors this week, with the dessert option of "something sparkly."
I was at a loss for inspiration for this week's card, until I happened to notice what I was wearing! I had just been to a Christmas party, and was wearing a Very Vanilla sweater with a sparkly gold "J*Y" knitted into the front. I've posted a photo of the sweater with the card, proving that inspiration is all around us!
Using the sweater design as a starting point, I stamped the J-snowflake-Y, using VersaMark ink and embossed with Gold Tinsel embossing powder. I wish you could see how this stuff sparkles, but I don't think it came through in the photo. The die I used cuts a pretty, stitched scallop border with a separate inner piece. I smooshed the frame into my VersaMark pad and covered with the same powder and heat set.
The pretty DS white striped paper needed just a little something, so I added a few snowflakes here and there, black mat, white card base. Voila!
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!

Oh, my gosh, Barbara - that is a great story about inspiration!! And I love the card - the gold scalloped frame around your sentiment is so pretty as is the scattering of gold snowflakes! Elegant and classy!
