I have relatives coming by air for the holidays, and realized I don't have enough gift tags for them to use when they wrap their gifts (you don't want to wrap them before you board the plane, since TSA may want to open them at security checks).
So I made these tags for two challenges this week:
So, with a single sheet of glittery paper and my ornament paper punch from Stampin' Up! I punched out lots of ornaments. I raided my paper scraps collection to find red and green pieces that were big enough to cut out a 1.25" x 3" rectangle (size was not always consistent because of available scraps).
I also used scrap Whisper White pieces that were at least 2" wide and punched out many tag bases. On these bases I first put my red/green rectangle using glue, then a piece of Washi Tape that said "Merry Christmans".
The ornaments were taped to the rectangles using SU Tear & Tape Adhesive tape (super sturdy so the ornament wouldn't come off with all the package moving before and during Christmas gift opening).
The "To:/From:" words were from my 1993 SU Great Greetings stanp set.
The layout of the tags was from the Watercooler Wednesday challenge, so that made it easy to build each tag along a basic layout theme.
Note that there is no need to try and make all the tags the same since they will be attached to different packages (and who pays attention anyway once you see your name on a gift???). So that makes this project very easy, and a great way to use up scraps!
Happy Holidays!

Hi Donna, what a clever way to use the sketch challenge and also get those tags you needed for your relatives. Great combination of challenges, too. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

Love that you used the challenge to do tags! They are wonderful. And also, great point about them not having to all be same! Thanks for joining the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.
