This time its the Giraffe from the new Darkroom Door wild life series stamps.
First of all I created a gelli plate background and stamped the giraffe background in Jumbo Java - using a Misti. I couldn't work out why the stamp was not stamping in some places and then it dawned on me - the gelli plate had metallic paint used on it - and the ink wouldn't take in some places. I then created a water coloured background for the sky. Stamped the trees and the giraffe in the distance. I fussy cut and coloured the Big Giraffe and then put it all together.
Because the grass wasn't "long enough" to go across the panel I stamped the sentiment and put it over the gap - so now it doesn't look so "unfinished".
Now I will go and work on the elephant image I have stamped up.
Hope you enjoy my travels in Africa.

I am loving the African Safari you are taking us on Helen. Darkroom a Door should sign you up! Your Gelli plate background looks incredible and the muted stamping looks perfect! Your fussy cutting is great and I love, love, love the design.

Ta dah! Here is the awesome giraffe. I like the giraffe background. My DIL wanted her baby invitations to be in giraffe to match the nursery. I bought every piece of giraffe paper JoAnn had so I could make 300 invitations. Then she changed her mind. So every year for her bday she is getting a giraffe card until all the paper is gone. Lol

Oh, Helen! I too LOVE your safari cards and absolutely love giraffes! I think they are some of the most amazing and gentle of animals. And what a stunning card with a gorgeous background! The giraffe looks so real and like he is running across the card! Absolutely a joy to my eyes, dear friend! Hugs! xoxo
