Hello, sweet friends! Well, it's really time for me to get into high gear with my Christmas cards. And today's card is clearly for my DH! But since it's a digital image, you could "crop" this sentiment and use only "Merry Christmas." I decided to make the "with extra kisses" green and used GIMP to do that (GIMP is a free photo-editing program available for both Windows and the Mac). Then I pulled it into Microsoft Word along with the sprig of mistletoe. I printed them out and colored them. I used Copic markers for the mistletoe and then (using my early Christmas present from DH) used my new Prismacolor pencils to shade the mistletoe. And I used the pencils to color "Merry Christmas," which is small and so much easier with sharp pencils.
Of course, the "fun" for me is to construct the card (after figuring out my layout). I found the DP, which was what guided my coloring of the leaves and the green for "with extra kisses." I die cut the mistletoe image with a stitched die, matted it with my "trusty" Mini Perfect Layers tool, and then worked out the base. Then I popped up the mistletoe square, finally added the little heart with floss, and added some Wink of Stella. Voila...and it was done (it will not be a surprise to my DH...but he will enjoy having it on his desk on Christmas day).
As always, thank you for taking a closer look at my card! I hope you have a wonderful week as you continue to get ready for Christmas and Hanukkah. Hugs, sweet friends!

Jaw drop! Gasp! What a stunning Christmas card Cheryl and one your DH will treasure for years. I love the wonderful design you used with this fabulous seasonal dsp and the stitched frame around this gorgeous mistletoe image you colored to sheer perfection! I really love what you did with the sentiment to give it this ombre look, and I love the little stitched heart in the corner. Such beautiful work Cheryl and a feast for the eyes. Thank you for sharing how you created this digital image too- I did not know about GIMP before. Big hugs my friend! ~Karen.

Beautiful, Cheryl! I love the sheen you colored on the bow/ribbon. And, the way you colored the sentiment is awesome. I can see why a sharp pencil would work best. DH is sure to love that you added that little heart showing your love for him. Fabulous card, my friend.
