Mixed Media challenge - "Anything Goes" (my media are Distress stains, embossing paste, and ink)
I created the background first. I spritzed a large piece of mixed media cs and swiped various Distress stains across it, blending them a bit where the touched. I cut a background piece from the part with lots of blue for sky and added falling snow with embossing paste and a stencil. Then I stamped the Tim Holtz Christmas tree on it. I stamped it again and die cut the tree part and layered it over the one stamped on the background.
The star and ornaments were stamped, coloured, and die cut separately and added over the stamped image.
It's bordered in black and mounted on a cream card base.
I'm giving it to a friend who is an architect.

Love the dimension of that tree you created by adding several layers, Susan. This is SO perfect for your friend and love the swiped background! it's so soft and well blended. How brilliant to wet mixed media paper to allow more blending of the swiping!

Never knew what to do with these schematic images of Tim Holtz....but you've shown me how really effective and delightful they can be, Susan. LOVE your bg and the bits of sparkle that you have added here and there.
