This card evolved as I went along. I knew the colors I wanted, and the fact that I needed a glittery Christmas card. So, I started by using the Embossed Embossing technique I found on SplitCoastStampers (Embossed Embossing Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers) and used my Stampin' Up! Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder to which I applied Versamark ink to the labeled side of the folder before running it through my Big Shot. I then sprinkled glitter and clear embossing powder (mixed together) so that it stuck to the "grooves" of the pattern. I heated this until the powder melted thereby embedding the glitter into the grooves.
I still thought the card needed more "shine", so I got out two of my Radiant Rain Shimmering Mist sprays. First I used a brush to splash the Teal Zircon (aqua) directly onto the embossed panel in a random fashion. It still didn't look glitzy enough, so I LIGHTLY sprayed the aqua mist onto the upper part of the panel, then spray a bit more heavily on the lower part with the copper spray.
STILL not satisfied with the glittery look, I punched four shapes that matched the embossing folder from a light aqua glitter paper and mounted these using adhesive foam strips. It's the holidays, so what the heck, I also added three tiny rhinestones to the top right and lower left corners.... NOW I felt I had enough glitz and glisten!!!
Of course, all the embossing, added colors and sprays made the Whisper White panel bow a bit, so I used SU super sticky Tear Tape to attach it to its Island Indigo matting.
The final touch was the sentiment "Joy" which I die cut using the SU Wonderful Wreath Framelits set. This I attached by rolling up Mini Glue Dots to raise the word just a bit from the card surface.
I think I accomplished all three objectives of this week's challenges: a wash of light blue, a splash of a radiant aqua, and TONS of glitter/glimmer/glitz!
