Karen is our hostess this week, and she has challenged us with traditional Christmas colors--just what I need to keep making progress on my Christmas cards! The colors are Real Red, Wild Wasabi and Very Vanilla. The dessert option is sparkles. I hope my sequins qualify!
I stamped my gingerbread boy with VersaMark ink on white cardstock, then heat embossed with white powder. Then I used a Real Red marker to fill in his cheeks and buttons. When the ink was dry, I covered the red using a VersaMark pen, then heat embossed with clear powder. When it was completely cool, I sponged Distress Vintage Photo ink over the whole gingerbread boy, and lightly rubbed with a tissue to remove ink from the white and red areas, and then fussy-cut him out.
I used Blueprints 13 to cut the two banners and the vanilla layer, then ran the vanilla through the Holly embossing folder, and sponged its edges with Antique Linen Distress ink. Stamped, die cut and sponged the sentiment, and layered all on a red card base.
Oh, no! A red thumbprint on the vanilla layer! Thank goodness for Karen's dessert option! I put a big, gold snowflake sequin right on top of the boo-boo, and then scattered a few more sequins just for fun!
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!
