Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #263: http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/ that required the use of four graduating sized objects on a front panel that had two pieces.
I'm always in need of masculine birthday cards, so when I saw the sketch and the colors, gears came immediately to mind. The sketch I wanted metallic gears, so went to a shiny Christmas stack of cardstock to get two of the colors (2 shades of copper). To make the two smaller gears, I used Crumb Cake and Early Espresso that I inked with Versamark, then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. This gave me four "shiny" gears, that I then die cut circles just a tad bigger than each gear in a contrasting cardstock. The gears were attached to their circles using rolled up Mini Glue Dots, then the circles attached to the front panel using Adhesive Foam Strips to raise them up and give the card dimension.
The Happy Birthday sentiment was stamped with Early Espresso ink.
I think any guy would appreciate a gear-themed card for his birthday!
