Gosh "that" shoe on the challenge page just kept popping up in my mind, plus the fact I wasn't happy with my attempt at Bag (in my case card), borrow or steal for a friend. It just wasn't giving me happy dances and my photo didn't even give it the slightest justice.
So there was nothing for it but to dismantle the first card and make another. Now this one is more my style and why didn't I think of doing some of these techniques the first time.
The red polka dot paper was created using my embossing folder and lots of ink and baby wipes. I'd seen Jennifer McGuire do this technique and wanted to give it a try. It works but be warned.....I've now got very very red hands ðY~' It was worth it.
The smaller tag was made using the geo square embossing folder after the cardstock had been plonked into a pool of inks splashed with water. The full effect was pretty awesome but I'm not one for too many patterns together so out came the black cardstock to tone it down. The larger tag was ripped off my first card and a few embellishments added.
The original "friend" die cut had gold shine but it didn't pop enough so a 2nd layer in black was added off centre. Still not happy so on goes more wink of Stella...red this time...better but not quite there. Eureka moment...and a white die cut was added. It seemed flat so out comes the white wink of Stella and wow love the shine. Before I knew it, I was adding shine to everything white on the card. It is glossy and looks so much better than in the photo.
Was I having happy dances.....just about, but I have to let the shoe disappear out of my thoughts and move on to another challenge.
Thanks for looking at my card. Make sure you check out my first dismal attempt to recapture those beautiful Christian Louboutin shoes. Sometimes the best laid plans of mice and men go awry. ðY~
