When I saw the Technique Challenge I had just the stamp I wanted to try out. I'd also seen this technique on a Jennifer McGuire video some months ago and had made a card for my nephew at that time. Love this technique and it will be my go to when I'm out of creativity )
I'm also submitting this card to the Colour Challenge this week as it uses 2 of my favourite ink pads.
The background was stamped alternating between black, red and green inks.
The tag was my 2nd attempt, the first one being a much nicer sponged effect, but when I embossed the greeting, the powder was stuck to the tag even though I had used my embossing buddy. Doh! So the one on this card is my 2nd attempt and still there's some gold speckles, and after I'd carefully gone around the sentiment with a brush so this wouldn't happen. Any tips on how to stop this are welcomed.
I sponged the watercolour paper with the red and green inks, splashing water on to get the tie-dye effect. I also spritzed some white spray mist on to give the effect of snow. It didn't quite come out as intended but I still like the effect.
After heat embossing the sentiment the tag was warped but I'm not the most patient person, so decided to run it through my Big Shot and hey presto, it flattened it out. I'd seen this tip on someone's video (probably Jennifer McGuire's site) and it works. The ribbon was added as I'd smudged some ink on the side )
It's a simple card but I think it meets the challenge criteria. Thank you for taking time to look at my card. Happy day
