This ATC was created for the monthly swap at my Stamp Group Meeting. The theme was "The First World War - Soldiers, Nurses etc. etc.).
The ANZAC Girls was a TV show about young Australian and New Zealand Nurses who went overseas during the First World War to places like Gallipoli and the fields of France. The story was based on the diary of one of the young nurses. I loved the TV show - and thought this image taken from the film was just perfect for this swap.
The background is a gelli plate print and the poppy and sentiment are stamped and the poppy coloured with Inktense water colour pencils.
Hope you enjoy.

Those old uniforms, aren't they amazing! Your poppy is just beautiful and the muted tones of the gelli print really add to the old-fashioned feel, and the bleakness of war.

Oh, dear Helen, this is a lovely ATC card...and so very touching. I love the old uniforms as well and agree that your gelli plate background truly gives it a vintage feel. How beautiful are the poppies...a remembrance of the field poppies...yes, truly remember the great sacrifices made during that war and so many afterward. I love it, precious friend! Hugs! xoxo

Wonderful ATC to remember the women that served in WWI, Helen. Wish we had that TV show here....sounds like one that I would like. Your poppy is gorgeous!

Wow Helen what a wonderful tribute. You put so much work and so many details into your amazing ATC's. I am sitting here looking at one of your beautiful Remembrance Day ATC's. Everything you create is super special my friend. P. S. I loved that TV series too.

What a lovely tribute to the women who served in war. The image is striking and the poppy such a strong symbol of remembrance! I've enjoyed a number of Australian TV shows but haven't seen ANZAC Girls. Will keep a look out for it.
