I have a whole box of the worldís ugliest gelli prints. I spent one afternoon bringing out the gelli plate again and decided to fix them. When doing gelliís I always just use white paint and reinker for color to make clean up much easier. Well some are hopeless, horrendous color and useless patterns. My next fix is spread paint on the gelli, usually a neutral like ivory and dip the whole thing on the paint. Thatís what I did with this background. Since it was void of any interest, I pulled out the stencils and randomly stenciled all over using various inks. The only downside is you may have a 1\8Ē thick coating of paint on it but itís usable.
I inlaid my favorite tree die with Shimmer Sheetz. Stamped the flourish in Versamark and embossed in silver. I have an old template of a star so pierced and stitched it. The flourish was embellished with nail heads and a few more stitches added to the bottom. Thanks for stopping by.

It's hard to believe that this started out as something you didn't like Nancy. Great save as it is now a GORGEOUS background. Love the mix of colours and the stenciling. The nail heads add so much to the silver embossed flourish, and your inlaid tree is beautiful. Love the hand stitching ... so perfect! Thanks for sharing at my tag event! xx

I think I have that tree (comes in a set of two?, T.H.?) anyway, I love what you do to fix your Gelli prints...I hadn't even had mine out in a couple years but used it today...I was happy until I started stamping on it!! LOL!
I have to go get my trees out and try something cause this is really gorgeous!
When you say Shimmer Sheetz do you mean by Elizabeth Craft Designs? You silver looks like molten EP...so beautiful!

Holy Smokes Nancy- that's a tag! Wow! You turned your "ugly-duckling" tag into a "swan" tag! How fantastic is that! The color you achieved here is just fantastic! The silver shimmer sheetz you used for this tree is so perfect with the blue and for the season. I am impressed how you used these nail heads and with your subtle, yet wonderful use of stitching. This is a "Nancy Masterpiece" of a tag! I am putting this right into my favs! ~Karen.
