Maura, I don't think you could have picked a more gorgeous combination of colors for the challenge this week. Thank you for inspiring me to come away from patterned DP and create some One4Joy artistic paper! I approached this timidly.
I used three hues of Tattered Angels shimmer mists. Girls, it didn't look like much while it was drying...
The stencil work was done with a Prima stylized star stencil, using Lumiere Arte Silk Glazes in 'Bolivia Blue' and 'Wine and Roses'. That stuff is a riot for the eyes...gorgeous colors!
The Washington Irving quote is perfect for the paper:
Happiness is reflective: like the light of heaven
I stamped the MOMR hand mirror with VersaMark and embossed with Platinum ep. I rubbed the silver paste all over the mirror. Tied a snippet of seam binding in eggplant around the handle' popping it above the quote.
The German foil was a bright metallic blue. I used Seaside Sparkle ep to mute the brightness, smearing it in places...more reflection... The 'One4Joy' designer paper was backed by an eggplant hued sheet. And there is the full color deal with a side of dessert.
I have to say I grew as an artist today with this challenge...don't know what I've been afraid of...thanks for encouraging me.
May your face reflect the happiness waiting to burst forth from you.

I understand your timidity. We all have something that scares us to try. Now that your feet are wet, maybe we'll see more creations like this pretty one! Wonderful bg and perfect use of the mirror with your sentiment~

Susan, I think this would be one of my favourite cards of yours - this is so artistically and beautifully done - I really LOVE the One4Joy Dp!! Your hand mirror is just gorgeous, too!! I still have my Nanna's beautiful old hand mirror!

Well the bg is fab...it's stunning...the colors, the sparse patterns, the shimmer (ok can't see that much but i know it's there)..wow! And who but you could make such wonderful use of a mirror stamp...it's so real looking and goes spot on with the sentiment. The German scrap is perfect to use with these colors...another inspired card!

What a beautiful message and an awesome card. Everything is beautiful about this design from your own designed dp to the words and mirror image.

As I read your description it would be such a thrill to see your supplies! Half of what you used I never heard of but what a spectacular background you created using them! That mirror is fabulous, Susan. Love the sentiment. You do have the most inspirational sentiments I have ever seen
