I have to confess that I had another image all coloured and ready to make into a card front today, but in bed last night I remembered that someone had sent me these two hat stamps last year...so I started again from scratch. I'll make my original one up into a sample for Thursday's WT challenge, it won't go to waste.
For this, I used the Free Standing Pop-up Card tutorial. I usually modifiy it slightly by adding fold-out flaps on each side. Instead of cutting a tag to the measurements given, cut it to the same height but add the width of each side flap on. Then trim an inch off the bottom of each flap, so that they will open out when you pop the card up. This card, I also made it slightly wider because I had to fit Sophia plus a little matting and layering.
I stamped my card base with Very Vintage, and used DP to decorate the front border and the panel behind Sophia. I cut a curve along the top of the side flaps and added a trellis and a couple of hats from Henrietta's shop. I'd have loved to do more with this, but time is at a premium for me right now. I did have great fun making this, though - thanks for the challenge, Carla. I am embarrassed to realise how many hat stamps I have - it's a bit like the umbrella situation, I could go on making cards all week for this challenge!!!

I like the added shutters to the free standing pop up. Cool card. I have always loved this image, I don't know why I haven't added her to my collection.

LOL I had to scrounge through my old stamps to find hats (and umbrellas). Sabrina, I love this card so much!! The fold is so perfect to showcase Sophia and her drop-dead gorgeous hat. I love the trellis and extra hats too. Thanks for the detailed description. You really are the master of techniques my friend.

This is so cool and super inventive and perfect for the hat challenge! I love the way you did the lattice sides and had the hats displayed on them. And your Sophia in the middle is one fashionable babe....so chic!! I also was surprised to find I had several hats from which to choose...I even had some top hats...I coul have done a male version of my card...rolls eyes
