I created this for the masking challenge in Falliday Fest. I used freezer paper for my masks. I die cut the "hi" from the freezer paper, ironed it onto my watercolor paper panel, and watercolored around it with my Distress inks. The ink ended up bleeding under parts of the mask, though. To make it look more cohesive (and intentional!), I added some spots of ink inside the letters. I also outlined the letters with a black felt-tip pen.

Andrea,
a gorgeous watercolor background in your bright shades of red and orange! The plaid was a very good idea to border your wonderful water coloring!

See, I wouldn't have known you didn't intend it to be that way unless you said so... I love the effect! How clever to use freezer paper - I need to get some of that and play around with it. Thanks so much for playing along with my Falliday Fest challenge!

It may not have been intentional but the effect is wonderful! I love the way your big open dot about the 'i' looks like the harvest moon rising just after sunset! Very eye catching card! I love it!
