It's quite natural that Holly wants to see holly in her Falladay Fest challenge, Happy Holly Days!
I stamped the text bg on my cardbase in an iridescent red, stamped and colored the image square and highlighted with gel pens. Added the die cut holly with some sequins for the berries and then moved on to the greeting. My first try had a green sentiment which blended right into the black. But since I fought to get it glued down in the first place, I kept trying different things to make it show; Wink of Stella-nope, white chalk-lightened but then I lost the glitter so I added more Wink of Stella and was back to dark green! Long story short (sort of) I ripped that darn green greeting off and replaced it with the red. It too has Wink of Stella, but I wasn't able to pick up sparkle from that or the iridescent ink or the gel pen. It's shimmery irl. You'd never know it, but this card took a ridiculous amount of time to complete. I better get things moving! TFL

I know what you mean about something taking longer than you thought..that happens to me a lot. I love how your poinsettia panel turned out..it's beautiful. And this card turned out great despite your frustration...

Oh, do I know the woes you're singing. That's how I came up with the layered sentiment on my wheat card. I just kept gluing over the one below until it worked for me. Lots of dimension. This turned out great. Red looks great. Thanks for playing.

Wow Carla, this is stunning in the darker colors! It looks like a quilt in the center of your card! The die cut sentiment and Holly are great finishes for it!

This was worth every minute you spent making it...it sure turned out great. The main image is beautifully colored. It looks like a lovely Christmas quilt.

Wow, I love your mosaic tiles with the holly vines on the side. That looks fabulous! I'm very familiar with your "blending" problem - I have done that many many times! LOL
