I saw this style of card two different times last week and I knew I just had to try and make one. I wasn't sure how hard it was going to be (turns out not that hard) but I didn't want to mess up good paper so I had some cardstock that I had been experimenting on. I had scribbled with crayons in fall colors. Well to make a short story the experiment was yuck and I was going to throw it away so why not use it to try to make a sample of this technique. I had it all done except for decorating the pop up panels on the inside. I decided I really hated it and I threw it in the trash. But after a couple of hours after walking away from it, I pulled it out of the trash. I took brown acrylic paint and used a scrunched up paper towel to put blobs on the card. I also did the same with gold paint. Then I stamped STAMPlorations mini mixed media background stamps randomly over the card. The pop up panels I decorated with a different ARTplorations stencil and a black sharpie marker. To the empty spaces on the card I watercolored with orange and yellows. I was going to do orange butterflies, but I decided to add teal colored butterflies to the outside and inside. The title of this technique made me smile. In my head I could hear the line from Legally Blonde where she teaches the hairstylist the Bend and Snap technique for catching a guy's attention, except she was saying TWIST and POP! I saw THIS tutorial on how to make this type of fancy fold card.
