This challenge (use apples) was so perfect for this week. Sunday was the first day of Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year) and apples and honey are traditional for wishing one a sweet New Year. I made this card for a friend who invited us to dinner to celebrate.
I wanted to watercolor the background and for some reason did not want to fussy cut out the honey/apples image and adhere on top. So I stamped it in the Versafine, masked the image and watercolored away. Then I hit it with my Copics completely forgetting that Copics and Versafine don't mix! Fortunately I usually do two images at once, so one bled and I was VERY careful with the second (shown here.) Whew!
To finish the card I used washi tape and heat embossed the sentiment, then added the buttons and thread.

SO many wonderful details that work together to make this card awesome. Love the cheery, warm colors paired with black and the yellow watercolor wash behind the image totally pops! Great design and layout. Nicely done!
