This is an Australian Gum Nut Fairy. I saw this stamp at the last craft show - but seeing that I am not really a "fairy" type of person it must have been a spur of the moment buy. After I got it home I didn't know what I was going to do with it. The first couple of times I stamped the image I wasn't happy with it. I couldn't get a good impression. The stamp is made up of little dots - no defined lines. But then I thought of the Misti and stamped I a few times to get a darker image which turned out nicely. I added a little sentiment and a pink twine for the "bow" as my bow tying skills are sadly lacking. This will have to do I am afraid. he he
Now that she is stamped, coloured and framed I find that I really like her - and think that she is one of the pretties fairies around. This reminds me of the Australian Childrens Book - Snuggle Pot and Cuddle Pie. One of my favourite books as a child.
Gum Nut is coloured with Derwent Inktense Pencils and her wings are highlighted with glitter gel pens. In real life she is nice and sparkly.
I hope you enjoy my little gum nut fairy.

I love the style your little fairy is drawn in Helen! Reminds my very much of the illustrations in a children's book that was my father's. We read it when I was a child. It must be about 100 years old at least! Your colouring is superb; I love her rosy cheeks!

Interesting image. I really like what you did with it, and the twine is just right......no bow tying!
