This is my card for IC565. Stef is our hostess and she sent us to the Decorative Dishes site for our inspiration. As soon as I saw this gold dots purple roses bee plate, I thought of the Doodle Flowers die from CottageCutz and my card idea was born.
I used some Stampin'-Up polka dot dsp in daffodil delight for my background. The flowers are cut from 2 shades of Bazzill purple cardstock.
I used the CottageCutz rounded rectangle die to cut the frame because it reminded me of the center of the plate.
My happy word is a die from MFT. I stamped the birthday sentiment on a banner to complete my card.
ETA: I forgot to add my bee to the card. It was part of my inspiration plate. So I added it and took a new photo.

Love the bold look with the yellow and purple, Mary - quite an eye-catcher!! I found the video for my technique and added it to my card description if you are still interested in seeing it!

Fabulously inspired card. Love the yellow polka-dot with the purple flowers. Great colors and love how you made them look so fantastic! The bumble bee is so cute. I like the combination of die-cut and stamped sentiments. Very nicely done! TFS

Oh, I can't believe how close you came to your inspiration piece, Mary....it actually made me laff for some reason....they look exactly the same!!! I must say though, it looks better as art than as a plate.....beautifully done!

...sure its got a catchy beat, but can you stamp to it?
