This is a wedding card I recently made for a musical couple (however, the design works wonderfully for a multitude of other occasions) so the vintage damask dp worked well as it has a subtle collage of sheet music worked into it. I was really pleased with the effect of all my elements working together. It's one of those surprising cards that came together quickly, smoothly and turned out better than I'd imagined!! LOVE it when that happens. It gave me a chance to use this beautiful bigz butterfly die which I embossed with it's coordinating folder, sponged with pumice stone and covered with clear wink of stellar for a lovely subtle shimmer. I had wrapped the gift in kraft postal paper that had been used by a store owner to package a picture I had just purchased, and as I looked at all the leftover scraps, I thought they would do perfectly to make a softly felted flower without all the work of breaking down and peeling apart cardstock! It worked beautifully-I cut out four with the smallest scallopped lacy circle spellbinder and scrunched, bunched and sponged the tips with pumice stone. Pierced a hole in the centre, applied pearl brad and fixed it onto the butterfly with a glue dot. Die cut sentiment with same kraft paper and sponged pumice stone on the tops for a bit of an ombre effect. I also sponged pumice stone on my sahara sand decoritive rectangle and it produced a sandy/grainy effect on the paper that I was delighted with!! I put my two cords together, wrapped them around four fingers, tied them and trimmed them to create the wreath behind the butterfly. My kind of monochromatic!
