There is this very human weakness that I fall victim to way too often....it is the tendency to be attracted to things that are bad for us like cheesecake, staying up all night crafting, and handsome guys with tattoos that ride motorcycles. So, once again, I fell victim to the evil watercolors which always leave me frustrated and disappointed. I found these little flower and leaf stamps and just thought I would try one or two with a marker and water pen. That morphed into a whole pile of flowers. Then I went in search of a basket stamp which I did not know I owned.....sure sign of an addict when you own stuff you don't even remember buying. I distressed and sponged the edges and splattered some white acrylic paint. The wood bg was made by adding inks to CS with the direct to paper technique and then using the woodgrain ef. I added some crackle paste in the corners. TEL, Francie

Well, my friend, youi are quite talented with those "evil" watercolors IMO! This beautiful bouquet with the rustic wood background and raffia? It just jumped off the page and into my favorites : )

Spectacular job of coloring and masking! watercolor is my nemesis too so I understand your frustration. Love the soft pastels, Francie and I'd say this is extremely successful! Love the rustic bow you added.

That title sure was intriguing and after reading your write up I can understand it...ha! Your watercolored flowers turned out beautiful and I love that unknown, unidentified basket stamp! It's fun to find things you didn't even know you owned! The worn, woodgrain bg goes really well with this amazing creation!!

Good grief, Francie - what's to be disappointed in with this! Those flowers are so beautiful. Actually, they remind me of the first card I got from you (a little girl standing on stones in a stream), which has a similar soft feel to it. AND it has a very similar wooden background which I have tried to recreate more than once . Beautiful basket, what a find. Love the distressing on this too, put altogether it makes me think of a country cottage somewhere.
That's not your DH you're referring to, is it, LOL.

Francie I don't think you are allowed to photograph a watercolour painting, shrink it and put it on a card........seriously my friend this is brilliant!!! If I hadn't read your story I would never have guessed in a million years that you find water colouring evil, bad boys yes, but not watercolouring. Straight into my favs Francie.
