For MariLynn's Burning Leaves MIX challenge today. This was fun to try - but I know I have had WAY more bubbling when I've heated glue with Perfect Pearls, so I need to go and review a couple of uploads I've made using that technique and see why it would be so different. But I love the look of these - they look so delicate and actually they're pretty tough.
The embossed panel and the matting layer under the owl were both from my scrap box. I stamped the owl on kraft to match the embossed layer, and because it looked to stark compared with the embossing (which by now I had swiped with white ink), I used a stamp from Timeless Textures (and weathered wood ink) to tone it down a little. Added a sentiment.
I stuck a strip of burlap ribbon across the embossed panel, sponged all the edges and then added my leaves, owl panel (I masked the calligraphy off before stamping, and he's coloured very minimally with Polychromos pencils) and a few little wooden sequins.

Your leaves look amazing Sabrina, they have a beautiful rich metallic glow. I love the rustic setting and your cute little owl. You have inspired me to give this a go tomorrow.

Your little owl looks right at home among those pretty textured leaves! The sponged green frame adds a nice bit of color to compliment the gold in your leaves.

All the elements work so well together on this card, Sabrina. The burlap ribbon and wood sequins (you find the most unusual thingd) look wonderful with your pretty embossed bg. The leaves loOK very real. Terrific fall csrd.

What a wonderful card! I love how you treated these leaves so they look like burned leaves- so cool! I love your really sweet owl image here, and the embossed background you inked up looks terrific with this scene. ~Karen.

I think we have the same leaf dies, but I like how yours turned out, with just the right touches of golden lustre. I always admire your eclectic textural embellishments, and here I especially like the wood effect sequins. Fabulous card!
