Hi Everyone!! This card is for out FS500 - Marg Mortimer aka Margscardcrazy. What a wonderful Gallery she has - filled with amazing works of art! I love all her watercoloring backgrounds and so I chose one as my inspiration today: Margs Gorgeous Never Too Much Happy card . Changes were with colors, images, card shape and number of layers. I used lighter colors and added a die-cut element.
To make my card I started by water coloring the background panel. Next I stamped the flourish from the Falling Flowers set in Versamark then white-embossed. Next I die-cut two of the flowers (one popped over the other) and two of the leaves, and played with the layout.
Once I had the layout I used my MISTI to stamp the sentiment. The sentiment was stamped many times before it saturated the nooks and crannies of this water color paper, and it looked so good at the time. However, the ink had never actually saturated into paper - it was sitting on top of it! Who knew that could even happen??
So in putting the card together I touched the sentiment, and essentially made a big mess. I put a paper towel over the sentiment and spritzed it with water, trying to soak up the extra ink, and as you can see, the ink ran. But after taking a break it turned out I like it this way! Not sure why - we'll see if I'm the only one LOL.
Anyway, last steps were adding/stacking the flowers, adding the leaves and sequins.
Thanks for the inspiration Marg - congrats on your
FS and hope you enjoy your week!
Thanks for looking!
Hugs,
Audrey

Hi Audrey! I think the spritzing of the sentiment go hand and hand with the watercolor background, so I'm with you, it works. I love the die cuts (A LOT) and your beautiful sequins. You've gotten really good at these watercolor backgrounds. I was going to try to play FS today, but it didn't work out. That's how I happened to see your card. Glad I didn't miss it.
