I was having fun yesterday playing around with the Faux Linen technique, so I made a card this morning for Janelle's MIX challenge. It's hard to see, but my sentiment is stamped on a page from an old notebook - so old that it was nicely faded, LOL.
I made the base as per the tutorial, stamping French Script on Rangers Glossy card. After sanding, I sponged with gathered twigs, then stamped the feather in walnut stain and sanded again.
I stitched all round the edges with a metallic thread.
The feather, poppies and foliage are all coloured with Brushos, and there are some black Stickles in the centre of each poppy. I added some cheesecloth before layering the flowers and leaves on. The sentiment is shaped with foam tape, as are the leaves.

That metallic thread is so cool. I was wondering how you got the look of so many colors in the thread. I thought maybe it was a variegated thread. Love the cheesecloth too! I need lessons on adding fun stuff to a card!

Your faux linen turned out so beautifully, Sabrina. It is just sooooo pretty. I love the brown colors that you used. The other elements are perfect ...eye catching but not overwhelming.

Wow! This is awesome! Love the layout and the layered paper for the sentiment. That is the coolest background paper (technique). Thx for playing, Sabrina. Always love seeing what you make for the challenges.
