I made an all-out CAS card yesterday for Anna's MIX challenge. Today, while my tomato sauce reduced away slowly, I had time to play and came up with this one to incorporate feathers.
The background and lace embossed on vellum were both from my scrap box, I stamped some script onto the base layer and then stitched the vellum on.
The bird was stamped on a book page with gold, embossed in gold. I coloured it with Inktense pencils, masked it, and wiped in some Gelatos for the background with my fingers. I added a piece of cereal box to stiffen it, and popped it up on foam - then added Stickles round the edge.
The feathers were stamped on a messed-up background from this morning, and I finished it off with some sequins, bling and a sentiment.
I left it to dry while we had lunch - and I sincerely hope the Stickles were dry because I sat on it when I came back upstairs. Oops - time to clear a little more space on my desk, I think!
p.s - I use buttonhole weight thread quite often for my stitching, as it gives a stronger, more defined look.

Where do I start (I can smell that sauce!!!), this is pure mixed media magic, I love it to bits Sabrina. Your handstitching is the icing on the cake, but then again so is the little bird, the script stamping, the feathers, the sequins - everything!!!!

Amazing! Love this gorgeous collage. The gold-embossed bird, the feathers, the beautiful verse are great for the theme. The different elements all come together to make this one very special. I'm glad it was dry when you sat down. Been there, done that! Do we ever have enough room? TFS
