I made this card in honor of Children's Day here in Japan. Since this is the cut out challenge, I decided to cut out the carp and have them flying. On Children's Day, a part of Golden Week here in Japan, they fly carp flags everywhere. They represent strength, power & success; all things they wish for their children's future. Whenever I look in the gallery for Japanese cards, I see a tendency to always want to do cards in black, red and white. My card is bright and colorful in tribute to the Okinawan specialty fabric called Bingata. It is always bright and colorful much like the washi paper I used on the card. I added gold ribbon in tribute to Golden week and the Go-Yen coin for good luck. Thanks for looking. I had fun playing. Happy Children's Day & Feliz Cinco De Mayo!

Thank you for sharing that information about Children's Week! I really love your card; you've inspired me to actually *use* the beautiful washi paper I've been hoarding. TFS!
