Hello, sweet friends! Well, many of you have been busy this week with Dare To Get Dirty! Wow, what amazing cards I've seen, and what fun! Here is the newest remixed digital release from Power Poppy, and I decided to keep this CAS. I wish my photograph were better, because the apples have a lot more contrast and lighter color for shading. Must be the red. Anyway, I had fun coloring, which is the best part. Deciding what layout to use and putting it together -- another whole thing - haha! I can't tell you how much I struggle with layouts! I added my sentiment with my MISTI, used a stitched die, matted it, and then added some perle cotton with a button. I did pop it up using 3M dimensionals, and oh what fun when I didn't have it straight. Have you ever tried to pull that stuff off a card? LOL! But it was fine once I used another card base. All's well that ends well, they say!
Because this is going to a special friend, I decided to use it for this week's CAS challenge - to make a card for a friend.
I really did enjoy coloring these apples because they reminded me of when I was younger and would go with my grandma to a local apple orchard for apples. The orchard was widely known for its delicious apples, and they had a shop where you could order fresh apple pies and even order a slice to eat there -- with vanilla ice cream on top. Oooh, was it delicious! And the apples were thinly sliced, tender, and had lots of cinnamon. The deep-dish pies had cinnamon sugar on top of an amazing flaky crust. Oh my, what precious memories.
I sure hope to find some time this weekend to check out more cards in the DTGD gallery, and I hope all our amazing Fan Club members have had lots of fun this week. And I can hardly wait to see how many DTGD queens we will have as they race to finish all the challenges! How exciting!
Thanks for taking a closer look, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Big hugs, sweet friends!

Those beautifully colored apples look good enough to eat, Cheryl. Then when I read your description of apple picking with your grandma, my mouth was watering. As I always say, you skill with copics is beyond amazing. No one woukd ever guess tgat you struggled with anything since this card, as well as all the cards in your gallery, are perfection.

Cheryl you are a beautiful artist......this is just gorgeous! Copic-ing is NOT in my skill set. I can't believe how real you made your apples and blossoms look. Love you sweet story too, my friend. Hope you are having a lovely day. Hugs, Jo

...sure its got a catchy beat, but can you stamp to it?
life is something that happens only when you run out of cardstock
It's always such a thrill to see your beautifully-colored creations, Cheryl. I am always amazed at how you bring each Power Poppy stamp to life and make it look like a true botanical illustration. It always makes me want to head straight to my crafty table and color some pretty flowers.
We have an orchard close by that still makes old-fashioned apple pies from scratch. It's a family-owned orchard. The father is retired and has a farm kitchen with stone ovens that the pies are baked in. Every late summer and early fall, we make the trip to buy a fresh apple pie at least 3 or 4 times. It's the best and most delicious pie ever and it makes a fantastic dessert for our family dinners. There's nothing that says home more than a hand-made treat.
Thank you for sharing your story, and for the inspiring card!

It's always a treat to my eyes to see one of those "Cheryl" creations. You made those apples look so good, one could pick them off the tree. Yes those apple pies sound yummy. We have a lot of apple and cherry orchards in our area. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful coloring skills with us. Hugs, Linda

Wow Cheryl! These apples look good enough to eat - they are stunning! I love how you colored them and I have been studying them closely to see what you did. The delicate blooms are colored to perfection! I am laughing (with you mind you) at how you created this gorgeous card. I do believe you and I create in much the same manner my friend! LOL. Your friend is absolutely going to love this card and she will treasure it for a very long time. The memory of going to the apple orchard with your dear grandmother is just lovely. I could almost taste the pie you described it so well here. Yum! ~Karen.
