This year I have three friends who have daughters graduating, and there's something about a freshly-emerged butterfly that symbolizes a new grad heading out into a brand-new adult life. The swallowtail butterfly's coloring was copied from a field guide; the image was embossed in black onto vellum card stock, and the colors were painted on the reverse side of the vellum with watercolor markers. After the butterfly was cut out, the wings were creased slightly where they join the body so that the insect would look real, and then it was attached to the card with a strip of dimensional foam. The insert for this card is shown under "Flowers of Gratitude," the other set used on this pouch.
