Basically, I started with a base card of dark blue cardstock. Over that I placed a piece of brown cardstock that was 1/2" smaller. On the bottom I used a strip of tweed print paper (image from etsy) about an inch high. Overlapping that I used a dark blue layer of scallop paper. The large scallops were made using a circle template. Then another 1 inch strip of fabric print - this time a ticking image from etsy. Over the brown on the top (about 1/4" smaller) I glued a piece of actual burlap. On top the burlap, at an angle, I used a picture of gears (from etsy). I glued three metal mini gears (spare parts from Hobby Lobby) and a picture of a victorian era clock (also from etsy) and a happy birthday tag. The clock and the tag have brads that match the gears. I also distressed them a bit by scraping the edges with sharp scissors and then crumpling up the paper.
