My wonderful nephew, Ben recently graduated from Middle School, and I wanted to make a card for him that was more grown up and a bit "cool", so when this SSS Painted Grad die arrived yesterday (it had been out of stock for awhile), I needed to work quickly.
I had wanted to try cutting out this die with fun foam, and was delighted when it worked. I decided I wanted a rainbow effect, and went with his favorite color of card-stock, which is blue. I liked the effect of the clean, stitched rectangles on the white cardstock, and decided to keep this card very simple, which isn't my style, but I really liked it, and would like to make more cards like this. I think I will be playing around with more fun-foam die-cuts. I decided I wanted to make them very glossy, so I painted them with a layer of Glossy Accents, and liked the effect. I'm sorry it's not so easy to see it in this photo...
Thanks so much for taking a look at my card--it makes my day when you leave a comment! I appreciate all that I learn from all of you on SCS, thank you so much!!!

Joanne, adding the glossy accent to the fun foam was a stroke of genius! The words just grab attention and shine so bright. I'm sure your nephew will appreciate the "ka-pow" of this card for his graduation. Well done! You get an A+

I love this. I love that you put glossy accents on the foam- makes it into something special. The colors are wonderful and the CAS style of this is wonderful. Super card and I can't believe you made it while he was asleep - sneaky crafting - now that is fun! Hugz

What a striking card Joanne! Love the thick dimension the fun foam gave those die cuts. The rainbow effect really stands out and shouts 'Congratulations'! I really love the CAS style of this.

Oh, Joanne, this is fabulous, and your nephew must love it! I love the fun foam and how you used Glossy Accents on it - wow! I agree with Sallie that it does look like molten glass. And what fabulous colors and a lovely stitched border...along with the great rich blue base. Wonderfully done, sweet friend! Sending hugs! xoxo
